About
Peter Chong obtained his PhD in Biological Chemistry at the University of York under the supervision of Prof Fred Antson and Dr Sandra Greive. His thesis was about using cryo-electron microscopy to characterise the portal porteins of thermophillic bacteriophages, and adapt them for use as new nanopores. He joined the Carlomagno group in 2025 as his first post-doctural position. His research interests are bacteriophages, nanopores (all kinds), cryoEM, RNA acetylation and NMR (just started learning). His current research project is studying RNA acetylation in humans with structural biology.
