About
Aasiya acquired her PhD in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa). During this time, she found the study of proteins and their interactions — be them with other proteins or nucleic acids — fascinating and to develop that interest and her capabilities further, she joined Prof. Carlomagno’s lab as a post-doc in 2023. Her current work focuses on understanding the conformational landscape of β-arrestin in GPCR signalling. More specifically, she is using NMR to determine the dynamics of arrestin-activation upon association with GPCRs and/or the lipid membrane.
